On Tuesday this week I visited the Fife Dunfermline Printmakers Workshop for a meeting with Sheila Carnduff - chairperson and treasurer of this wonderful printmaking space.
FDPW is located in the basement of the Dell Farquharson community and learning centre, a stone’s throw from the town centre and train station.
I could not believe how many processes they had packed into the space, with some beautiful old presses, as well as many innovative equipment solutions! You can see how much knowledge and skill has been passed down and shared amongst members when you see the prints produced here. Many FDPW members have been working here for decades; there is a great sense of community and much collaborative spirit.
I hope to go back and visit FDPW soon - it is a real gem.
I neglected to take any photographs(!) but here is their latest leaflet, pictured below.
