In Spring 2023 I was invited by the Director of the Hand Engravers Association to design and make this year’s pin design as gifts for their patrons.

I engraved two steel dies based on my drawings of Perthshire forests, contrasting the verdant darkness of late summer bundled beeches with the bright forest of winter, where migratory birds stream between the bare boughs, illuminated by the sun.

I struck these as single sided pins, five of each design in Britannia silver for the patrons, and produced double sided cast medallions in bronze and sterling silver from a lead strike.
