Stud earrings in silver with 18ct gold pin backs

These designs were carved and engraved in reverse into a steel block, die-struck with a hydraulic press in pewter before being cast in sterling silver using the ancient lost wax process. This technique of making a solid form sculpture through direct carving allows the artist to create interesting variations in height and volume in the design, ensuring a perpetually changing interplay of shadow and light.
